Is this just a stupid title of a book written by someone who makes money from writing books?”  “Can you really ‘Think and Grow Rich’?”  “I think and I’m not rich, how come?”

These were just some of the many questions that ran through my mind when I first discovered the best selling book “Think and Grow Rich”  by Napoleon Hill.  This book is attributed to making more people millionaires than any other single book ever written.

Hill stated in the preface that “This book contains the secret …”  The secret that with a single application made Charles M Schwab roughly $600,000,000!!  Hill also stated “A peculiar thing about this secret is that those who once acquire it and use it find themselves literally swept on to success.” 

Almost every seminar I have conducted I have asked how many people have read Think and Grow Rich.  Often about 30% of the audience put up their hands.  Then I ask how many know The Secret mentioned in the book and almost all the same people put up their hands.  Yet when I talk to them later I find that they do not have the financial success they desire.

What has this got to do with you?  Everything!

Once you know and apply the secret you will be literally swept onto success.  Sadly, it is not taught in our schools, it is not taught in our colleges or universities, it is hardly known or understood in business or commerce.  Yet it is by far the most powerful wealth creation tool there is.  You can learn all about investing in property, you can learn to trade the stock market, you can learn how to start and build businesses, but unless you learn and apply the secret you will never achieve the level of success you truly desire.

The secret is quite simple really, what you spend most of your time thinking about, what you focus on, what you secretly desire, you will get: it’s called the Law of Attraction.  Most people sort of know that and you might be sitting there reading this and saying “Yes, I know that.”  Do you really?  Do you really know and understand the power that you have, that you can create whatever you desire?  If you do then your results will show.

I thought I understood, but I was still broke and unhappy!  I then stumbled across some material that explained in simple ABC layman’s terms exactly how the mind works and why we have what we have got.  The fact is, you already use the law of attraction every day.  Your life is exactly how you designed it.  Just most people don’t know that and consequently don’t know how to change it.

We could talk all day about goal setting, affirmations, visualisation and all the other popular ‘motivation’ style techniques.  The fact remains, unless you truly understand how the mind works, all that stuff has little effect on your results.

The paradigms (a group of habits) that are built up in our sub-conscious mind since birth control our results.  This is often referred to as our self image.  We all have an image about ourselves in everything we do.  You have a self image about relationship, health, love, money and so on.  Much of this was formed before the age of nine.

You can never outperform your self image.

You have a paradigm about money.  A self image about money if you like … you have embedded deep within your sub-conscious mind certain pictures or  references about exactly how much you are worth.  No matter how hard you work, no matter how much knowledge you gain, you will not outperform your self image about money for any length of time.

You probably already know the facts of what happens with people who win large sums of money.  95% are worse off financially within five years after they have won a large sum of money.  Why?  Their self image remains at what they were earning and by unconscious habit, they go about making decisions that causes their outside world to realign with their self image.

People go to wealth creation seminars, they buy home study courses, they join mentoring programs and wonder why they never implement the strategies they learn.  Same reason! 

Can you  change this?  Absolutely, and quite easily.  The more you learn about creating wealth the more important it is to be constantly changing your self image about wealth.  Learn how the mind works and as  Napoleon Hill said, “Money will come so fast and so furious, you will wonder where it has been all this time.”  It has for me and I know it will for you.
